Five Fold Ministry Team



The Five Fold Ministry:

The five fold ministry consists of the five major offices or callings given the beliver by the Holy Spirit. There has been alot of study and debate over each of these areas and many in the church deny that they are actual functions of todays church. They accept some of the callings but not all of them, some they believe ended when the original apostles and prophets had died. I believe that if it was important to make mention of these offices in the Holy Scriptures it must be important! You must come to believe that the Word of God is relevent today as the Word was yesterday, and will be tomorrow. The Word doesn't change! So now that we have that issue all cleared up, let's look at the Word of God found in Ephesians chapter four beginning with verse 11.

And He gave some, apostles; and some, prophets, and some, evangelist; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: (Ephesians 4:11-13 KJV)

I could preach an entire week on just the few verses above! We need to get serious about the Word of God if we are ever able to see any unity in the body of Christ.

Please note the beginning of verse eleven, when it is mentioned that; " He gave" the Lord is once again talking about His Holy Spirit which now dwells in all believers. It is the Holy Spirit that was promised to us before Jesus ascended back into heaven to be with the Father. It is the Holy Spirit that unites with our spirit, making our spirit brand new, born again, a new creation of uncorruptable seed.

We at Good Tree Ministry believe in the five fold ministry and try to make sure that when we travel, all those gifted in one or more of these callings go with us to ensure fullness and accuracy. We are striving to be the Body of Christ that is on the move toward a unity in faith and the fullness of Christ.

Go Team

The "Go Team" of Good Tree Ministry is made up of Chaplains and Ministers who are trained and have been in the Lords' service for over two years. They are all praying members on the ministries board and assist in all facets of this five fold ministry. The Go Team is active in the community through:

Grow Team

The "Grow Team" are assistant ministers, training in their callings. Good Tree Ministry doesn't believe in "pew sitters", we encourage and require all Grow Team Ministers to assist the Go Team when ever they are out and about. This ministry is probably our favorite since we get a chance to see real fruit in peoples lives take shape and mature quickly.

The "hands - on" approach to ministry is probably the most effective training anyone can undergo in their spiritual journey. We require 20 hours of in class training for all our ministers but 80 hours of in the field experience before being considered for advancement into the Go Team.

Fruits Ministry

The "Fruits Ministry" is a special ministry developed to meet the physical needs of those we serve. Fruits Ministry is responsible for gathering food and clothing articles for immediate distribution.

We as the Body of Christ are ordered to take care of the orphans and widows. Those who flow in the giftings of helps, giving, and mercy are most often those who will serve in this capacity.

They will know we are Christians by our love!

Roots Ministry

"Roots Ministry" is purposed for duplication of the entire ministry throughout the world. Making disciples of all men and women for Jesus Christ.

We are currently developing the West Africa ministry in Sierra Leone at this present time. Five youth ministers are in training to evangelize the capital city of Freetown in the country of Sierra Leone at this very moment and are in need of much help. We are planning a trip to travel there soon to assist with setting up a training facility to train and send those who have a desire to serve Jesus Christ our Lord.

We have been invited to travel to Guatemala and assist the great move of God in Central America this next year, as the Lord provides!

Are big goal is to set up seven locations in Lansing, Michigan to assist the local communities in the areas of evangelism, prayer, healings, fellowship, and physical assistance for the homeless to include shelter and employment training. We are also praying to have our "Soul Patrol Officers" dispatched from such locations in Soul Patrol vehicles. We believe God for this vision and have faith that He will provide all as we continue to step out and show up.

Soul Patrol

The "Soul Patrol" is currently in the development stages. It's function is to be a dispatched unit for prayer and intercession. By use of patrol vehicles radio dispatched, our Chaplains will be able to respond in person to any major prayer concerns. We will use vehicles that are equiped to handle food distribution as well as assist local emergency operators (police and Fire depts.) in times of dissasters. All Soul Patrol Officers will be certified in Standard First Aid, as well as C.P.R. training.
